Prior to this event, no angler in recorded sportfishing history had ever reached 100 pounds solely with smallmouth. But with a rare stretch of calm, sunny weather and Wednesday’s super moon igniting the fish, Przekurat did just that.

His feat earned him a spot in the prestigious Bassmaster Century Club, which recognizes a four-day total of over 100 pounds. It also earned him one of the most prestigious trophies in pro fishing and the $100,000 top prize.

New York's St. Lawrence River occupies the No. 1 position in the 2020 edition of Bassmaster's Top 100 Bass Hot Spots. Fish the 1000 Islands.

I just talked to a fisherman from Jersey he said the fishing is great up here. He said ''he had never caught a smallie over 4lb and he had been fishing all his life''. The first time he came up here to Clayton  he caught a fish over 6 pounds. When I asked what he did then. ''he said I stood there with my mouth open''. A bad day fishing in Clayton is better than the best day fishing at home. He was here last week and he just came in again for another week of fishing.

We, at K's Motel are proud to have as guests, Charlie Ingramand Ray Brazier, along with their film crew, while filming three shows on fishing in the 1000 Islands.
